Johann Michael von Bock

Johann Michael von Bock ( von Pokrziwnicki from 1775 von Bock , * 1743 in Frankenau , † 1812 ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Bock came to Berlin on June 4, 1757 as a cadet . On January 27, 1759 he was employed as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Bornstedt" of the Prussian army . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles of Liegnitz , Torgau , Freiberg and the siege of Dresden. He was wounded in Torgau and promoted to ensign on January 4, 1762 .

By the end of March 1778, Bock had advanced to staff captain , took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 and distinguished himself in the battle near Meißnick. On August 3, 1779 he was promoted to captain and company commander . In the following years, Bock advanced and was finally appointed as a colonel on November 23, 1800 regimental commander. As his strength waned, he received his resignation as major general on December 8, 1803 with a pension of 800 thalers. He died in 1812 with no offspring.
