Johann Detlef Theede (born April 1, 1876 in Kiel-Ellerbek ; † January 28, 1934 in Kiel ) was an important Kiel architect of homeland security architecture at the beginning of the 20th century.

Theede attended the building trade school in Eckernförde from 1893 to 1897 as an apprentice carpenter . From 1902 he worked as an architect in Kiel. From 1908 to 1912 Theede was one of the founders of the Schleswig-Holstein State Association for Homeland Security . In 1933 he became an honorary commodore in the Kiel Sailors' Association (KSV).

The buildings he designed were based on baroque Schleswig-Holstein manor and farmhouse architecture until the First World War , after which he preferred brick expressionism until he finally turned to the clear lines of classical modernism.
