Jo Frank
Jo Frank (born March 12, 1982 in Marburg an der Lahn ) is a German writer , publisher and translator and managing director of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk .
life and work
Frank grew up in Southend-on-Sea and Kiel . After graduating from high school , he studied English, American, Greek and Holocaust communication in Berlin . He publishes poetry and prose in English and German, most recently the multilingual text Snacks in autumn 2017 .
Since 2005 Frank has been running the Berlin publishing house together with Dominik Ziller, Andrea Schmidt and Tilmann Severin , where he works as a publishing editor . He is the editor of the literary magazine Belletristik and the book series "Bibliothek Belletristik", "Edition Belletristik", "Edition Polyphon" and the "Edition Panopticon". From 2006 to 2008 he was editor of the English-language literary magazine Bordercrossing Berlin .
Frank has been a member of the “Ensemble Zeitkunst” and artistic director of the “Zeitkunst” festival since 2008 (together with Julian Arp and Caspar Frantz ).
Since 2009 Frank has been managing director of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk , the gifted support organization of the Jewish community in Germany. There he is head of the ELES program " DAGESH. KunstLAB ELES " and the dialogue perspectives. Religions and world views in conversation , a program of ideological and interreligious dialogue .
Together with Felix Scheinberger , Frank is the initiator of the German-Israeli exchange “everyday life”.
Jo Frank lives in Berlin.
