Johannes Först

Johannes Först (* 1972 in Forchheim ) is a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1991 to 1997 he studied Catholic theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Bamberg . He obtained his diploma there in 1997 from the Faculty of Catholic Theology, his doctorate in 2002 from the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen ( Ottmar Fuchs ) and his habilitation in 2009 from the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Bamberg (Heinz-Günther Schöttler, Marianne Heimbach-Steins , Wolfgang Klausnitzer ). From 1999 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Research into Contemporary Religious Culture at the University of Bayreuth ( Christoph Bochinger / Joachim Kügler ). From 2005 to 2008 he was a research assistant at the chair for pastoral theology and kerygmatics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Bamberg ( Heinz-Günther Schöttler ). He was awarded the 2009 Cardinal Wetter Prize of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria for his habilitation thesis. From 2008 to 2015 he was an academic (senior) councilor at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Regensburg , department for pastoral theology (Heinz-Günther Schöttler). From 2015 to 2017 he taught as Professor of Practical Theology at the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology ( Tilburg University ) in Utrecht . In 2018 he was appointed Professor of Pastoral Theology at the University of Würzburg .
