Johannes Baptista Maria Haw (born May 26, 1871 in Schweich on the Moselle, † October 28, 1949 in Leutesdorf ) was the founder of the Johannesbund Leutesdorf and founder of the religious orders of the Johannessisters of Maria Königin and the missionaries of St. John the Baptist .

Johannes Haw studied theology at the seminary in Trier and was ordained a priest on March 30, 1895 in Trier Cathedral by Bishop Michael Felix Korum . He was chaplain in the parish Liebfrauen in Koblenz , parish vicar in Holz / Saar and later pastor in Wintersdorf an der Sauer.

He became one of the leading figures in the anti-alcohol and temperance movement in Germany. The bishop appointed him to the diocese commissioner of the temperance union with the office in Trier. Shortly afterwards Johannes Haw became the leader of this movement for all of Germany.

In 1912 he went to Leutesdorf and bought a house there for groups of alcohol addicts and those at risk. The foundation of the "Johannesbund" took place on October 15, 1919. This resulted in two religious orders: the religious order of the St. John sisters of Maria Königin and the community of missionaries of St. John the Baptist. Both are based in Leutesdorf. The members also live and work in Portugal , Mozambique (East Africa) and India .

The process of beatification of this priest and founder of religious orders has begun.
