John Alphonse Asiedu

John Alphonse Asiedu SVD (born May 12, 1962 in Adeemmra , Afram Plains District ) is a Ghanaian Roman Catholic religious priest and Apostolic Vicar of Donkorkrom .

Life

John Alphonse Asiedu joined the religious order of the Steyler Missionaries in 1988 and then studied at the seminary in Tamale . On September 21, 1991 he made his first and on September 8, 1996 his perpetual profession . On July 19, 1997, the Archbishop of Accra , Dominic Kodwo Andoh , donated the sacrament of ordination to him .

After being ordained a priest, he initially worked in parish pastoral care. From 1999 to 2005 he was assistant to the novice master in Nkwatia-Kwahu and then until 2008 economist of the order province in Accra . From 2008 to 2017 he was prefect of scholastics in Tamale and since 2017 novice master in Nkwatia-Kwahu.

On February 11, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Donkorkrom. The Archbishop of Tamale, Philip Naameh , ordained him episcopal on May 4th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the previous Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana, Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich , and the Bishop of Keta-Akatsi , Gabriel Edoe Kumordji SVD .
