The Bistum chum Akatsi ( lat. : Dioecesis Ketaënsis-Akatsiensis ) is an in Ghana preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Akatsi .
history
The diocese of Keta-Akatsi was founded on March 15, 1923 by Pope Pius XI. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Gold Coast and Togo as the Apostolic Vicariate of Lower Volta .
On April 18, 1950, the Apostolic Vicariate Untervolta was by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Laeto accepimus raised to the diocese and renamed the diocese of Keta . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Accra as a suffragan . The diocese of Keta gave on April 23, 1956 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Navrongo . On June 20, 1975, the diocese of Keta was renamed the Diocese of Keta-Ho . The diocese of Keta-Ho gave up on December 19, 1994 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Jasikan . On December 19, 1994, the diocese of Keta- Ho was divided into the dioceses of Keta-Akatsi and Ho by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabiles Fratres .
