John Aniston
John Aniston (* 24 July 1933 in Chania , Crete , Greece as Yannis Anastassakis ) is a Greek-American film and stage actor who best known for its long-standing role as Victor Kiriakis on the soap opera Days of Our Lives is known. He is the father of actress Jennifer Aniston .
Life
Yannis Anastassakis ( Greek Γιάννης Αναστασάκης ) was born in 1933 in the Cretan port city of Chania . When he was two years old, his family emigrated to the United States and settled in Chester , Pennsylvania , where his father opened a restaurant.
He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Theater Arts. After graduating, he served in the United States Navy in intelligence. He left the Navy with the rank of lieutenant commander.
From the early 1960s he worked as an actor on television. In addition to various guest roles in television series such as Tennis Rackets and Cannons (1967), The People of Shiloh Ranch (1968) and Cobra Take You (1969), he also appeared in theaters, including on New York's Broadway, where he played Little Mary Sunshine could be seen.
Since 1986 he has played the role of Victor Kiriakis in the soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht in more than 2,800 episodes .
The daughter Jennifer Aniston (* 1969) emerged from the 1965 marriage with actress Nancy Dow . The marriage ended in divorce in 1980. He has been married to actress Sherry Rooney since 1984 . The second marriage was the result of their son Alexander Aniston (* 1989).
