John Bosco Chang Shin-Ho

John Bosco Chang Shin-Ho (born May 25, 1966 in Daegu , South Korea ) is a South Korean clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Daegu .

Life

John Bosco Chang Shin-Ho first studied electronics at Youngnam University and then entered the Daegu seminary . From 1993 to 1996 he studied at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and from 1996 to 1998 at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo in Rome, where he obtained a licentiate in liturgical science. On August 25, 1998, he received the sacrament of ordination .

After a brief activity in pastoral care, he completed postgraduate studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo from 1999 to 2002 and received his doctorate in liturgical science . After returning home, he was a lecturer at the seminary in Daegu until 2009. From 2009 until his appointment as bishop, he was Executive Secretary of the Liturgy Commission of the Korean Bishops' Conference .

On 31 May 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Vescera and auxiliary bishop in Daegu. The Archbishop of Daegu, Thaddeus Cho Hwan-Kil , ordained him episcopal on July 12 of the same year. Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Augustinus Kim Jong-soo from Daejeon and Joseph Son Sam-seok from Pusan .

On October 28, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments .
