John Doman (born January 9, 1945 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor .

life and career

John Doman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters of Business Administration in 1966 . He then took part in the Vietnam War.

John Doman became known mainly through his various roles as a policeman in films and television series. His best-known roles include Major / Deputy Commissioner Rawls on the HBO series The Wire . In the German-speaking world, he was best known for the personification of the unscrupulous Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia , who later became Pope Alexander VI, in the miniseries Borgia broadcast on ZDF and ORF . He also appeared in several episodes of the television series Rizzoli & Isles .

In 2014 he took on the role of mafia boss Carmine Falcone in the Fox series Gotham . In 2015, he played Bishop Charles Eddis in two episodes in the Netflix- produced drama series House of Cards .

On September 12, 1981, he married the jewelry designer Linda Lee Rudloff. A son, Mark Rudloff, emerged from the marriage. Linda Lee Rudloff Doman died of a stroke on April 26, 2014 .
