John Eijirō Suwa

John Eijirō Suwa ( Japanese ヨハネ諏訪榮治郎 , Yohane Suwa Eijirō ; born July 8, 1947 in Kobe ) is a Japanese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Takamatsu .

Life

John Eijirō Suwa attended the Catholic Institute Rokkō and studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Tokyo. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Osaka on November 26, 1976 . He was vicar of the parishes Sonoda ( カトリック園田教会 ; 1976 to 1979) in Amagasaki , Kori ( カトリック香里教会 ; 1979-1981) in Neyagawa , Shukugawa ( カトリック夙川教会 ; 1981 to 1983) in Nishinomiya and Tamazukuri ( カトリック玉造教会 ; 1983–1986) in Chūō-ku / Osaka . From 1986 to 1988 he was the rector of the Minor Seminary in Osaka. After a sabbatical year to the Philippines , he assumed the pastorate Takatsuki ( カトリック高槻教会 ; 1989-1995) in Takatsuki , Sumiyoshi ( カトリック住吉教会 ; 1995-1997) in higashinada-ku / Kobe and Nakayamate ( 中山手カトリック教会 ) Shimoyamate ( 下山手集会所 ) and Nada ( 灘集会所 ) (1997-2000) each in Chūō-ku / Kobe .
