John Huston Ricard

John Huston Ricard SSJ (born February 29, 1940 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana ) is former Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee .

Life

John Huston Ricard joined the religious order of the St. Joseph Society of the Sacred Heart and was ordained a priest on May 25, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Baltimore and titular bishop of Rucuma on May 25, 1984 . He received his episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Baltimore , William Donald Borders , on July 2 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Thomas Austin Murphy , Auxiliary Bishop in Baltimore, and Eugene Antonio Marino SSJ, Auxiliary Bishop in Washington .

On January 20, 1997, he was appointed Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee . He resigned from his office on March 11, 2011.
