Gregory Lawrence Parkes (born April 2, 1964 in Mineola ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Saint Petersburg .
Life
The Bishop of Orlando , Norbert Mary Leonard James Dorsey CP , ordained him a priest on June 26, 1999 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee on March 20, 2012 . The Archbishop of Miami , Thomas Gerard Wenski , donated him episcopal ordination on June 5th of the same year; Co- consecrators were John Gerard Noonan , Bishop of Orlando , and Felipe de Jesús Estévez , Bishop of Saint Augustine .
Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Saint Petersburg on November 28, 2016 . The inauguration took place on January 4th of the following year.
His younger brother, Stephen Parkes (* 1965), is Bishop of Savannah .
