Robert Nugent Lynch (born May 27, 1941 in Charleston , USA ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Saint Petersburg .

Life

Robert Nugent Lynch studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus , Ohio and at Pope John XXIII. National Seminary in Weston , Massachusetts . He received on 13 May 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Robert Nugent Lynch was an assistant priest in St. James Parish in North Miami . He then became a rain of St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami . Afterward, Lynch was pastor of St. Mark's Parish in Fort Lauderdale .

On December 5, 1995, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Saint Petersburg . The Archbishop of Miami , John Favalora , donated him episcopal ordination on January 26, 1996 ; Co- consecrators were Archbishop Emeritus of Miami, Edward Anthony McCarthy , and Pro-President Emeritus of the Pontifical Commission for the State of Vatican City , Archbishop of Curia Paul Casimir Marcinkus . Robert Nugent Lynch was also the Apostolic Administrator of Palm Beach from June 6, 1998 to November 12, 1998 .

Robert Lynch is involved in numerous social projects and the Christians in the Holy Land . In 1996 he was from Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Cardinal Furno for Grand Officer of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem and appointed on September 21, 1996 in Saint Petersburg by Grand Prior Francis B. Schulte in the governor's office USA Southeastern invested.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 28, 2016.
