John Tate (bass player)

John Tate (* around 1975) is an American jazz musician ( double bass ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Tate earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance from Northern Illinois University , followed by a Diploma in Jazz Studies from New York's Juilliard School . His mentor during this time was Ron Carter . He worked in the American music scene from the mid-1990s; u. a. He played with Von Freeman , Matt Wilson , Tony Malaby , Ben Monder , Jeff Parker , Carl Allen , Rodney Jones , Bill Carrothers , Victor Goines and George Fludas. He also recorded in Chicago with the Stone / Bratt Big Band, in New York with Marquis Hill ( New Gospel ), Fareed Haque ( Out of Nowhere - Featuring Billy Hart & George Mraz ) and Charles Rumback . Tate lives in Brooklyn, where he also plays with Tobias Meinhart , Sacha Perry and Elliot Scozzaro.
