Johny Mera Naam (translated: Johny is my name ) is a 1970 Hindi film by Vijay Anand .

action

The policeman Kumar is stabbed to death in front of his two sons Mohan and Sohan. Mohan pursues the crook and stabs him in revenge, ending up with the crook Ranjit, who takes him in. Years later Mohan becomes the criminal Moti, who deals in diamonds and drugs for Ranjit alias Rai Saab Bhupendra Singh.

This is a thorn in the side of the police and the chief inspector Mehta hires his best man: Jugal Kishore - the grown-up Sohan. Under the name Johny, he befriends Moti's crook colleague Heera in prison to work as a hidden agent for Moti, as does Moti's assistant Rekha. But Rekha also has a secret, because her father, the real Rai Saab Bhupendra Singh, is being held captive by Ranjit as he is the owner of two valuable diamond-studded crowns.

Moti is told that Johny works for the police. A fight ensues that is reminiscent of the boxing matches of her childhood. So the two identify as brothers and from then on Moti also works for the police.

Eventually they arrest the crook Ranjit and his accomplices and free Rekha's father. The once torn family reunites and is enriched by Sohan and Rekha's wedding.
