Jorge Enrique Concha Cayuqueo OFM (born June 8, 1958 in Carahue , Chile ) is a Chilean Roman Catholic religious and appointed Bishop of Osorno .

Life

Jorge Enrique Concha Cayuqueo belongs to the Mapuche indigenous people . He joined in 1978 the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 20 December 1986, the sacrament of Holy Orders . After further studies, he was at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Social Sciences PhD .

On 14 July 2015 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Carpi and auxiliary bishop in Santiago de Chile . The Archbishop of Santiago de Chile, Ricardo Cardinal Ezzati Andrello SDB , donated him the episcopal ordination on August 29 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Rancagua , Alejandro Goić Karmelić , and the Bishop of Temuco , Héctor Eduardo Vargas Bastidas SDB.

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Administrator of the vacant Diocese of Osorno on June 11, 2018 . On February 5, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Osorno.
