José Antonio Canales Motiño

José Antonio Canales Motiño (born March 19, 1962 in La Lima , Honduras ) is a Honduran clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Danlí .

Life

José Antonio Canales Motiño received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of San Pedro Sula on October 12, 1996 .

On January 2, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him first bishop of the Diocese of Danlí, which was established on the same date . The Archbishop of Tegucigalpa , Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on March 11th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of San Pedro Sula, Angel Garachana Pérez CMF , and the Bishop of Choluteca , Guy Charbonneau PME .
