José Cobo Cano (born September 20, 1965 in Sobiote , Andalusia , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Madrid .

Life

José Cobo Cano obtained a degree in civil law from the Complutense University in Madrid in 1988 and a bachelor's degree in Catholic theology from the Dámaso University in Madrid in 1992 . He received on 23 April 1994, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1996 Cobo Cano continued his studies in Christian social teaching at the Pontifical University of Comillas .

From 1994 to 2000 José Cobo Cano was chaplain of Hermandades del Trabajo and parish vicar of the parish of San Leopoldo . Then Cobo Cano was pastor of the parish of San Alfonso María de Ligorio . He was also a member of the Council of Priests of the Archdiocese of Madrid from 2000 to 2012 . He has been Episcopal Vicar for Region II since 2015 .

On 29 December 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Beatia and auxiliary bishop in Madrid. He received his episcopal ordination on February 17, 2018 in the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de La Almudena by the Archbishop of Madrid, Cardinal Carlos Osoro Sierra ; Co- consecrators were the Senior Archbishop of Madrid, Antonio María Cardinal Rouco Varela , and Archbishop Renzo Fratini , Apostolic Nuncio in Spain.
