José González Alonso

José González Alonso (born July 12, 1940 in Sobradillo , Salamanca province ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Cajazeiras .

Life

José González Alonso was ordained a priest on June 29, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 7, 1994 auxiliary bishop in Teresina and titular bishop of Baliana . The Archbishop of Teresina, Miguel Fenelon Câmara Filho , donated him episcopal ordination on March 18 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were José Cardinal Freire Falcão , Archbishop of Brasília , and Julián López Martín , Bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo .

On June 20, 2001, he was appointed bishop of Cajazeiras . Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 16, 2015.
