José Hiraís Acosta Beltrán

José Hiraís Acosta Beltrán (born September 22, 1966 in Pezmatlán , Hidalgo , Mexico ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Huejutla .

Life

José Hiraís Acosta Beltrán studied at the regional seminar in Tula de Allende and obtained a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical University of Mexico (Universidad Pontificia de México). On June 11, 1993 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Huejutla through Bishop Juan de Dios Caballero Reyes .

He worked as a parish chaplain , vice rector of the boys' seminary and judge at the diocesan court. He taught as a professor at the seminary of the diocese of Huejutla. Until his appointment as bishop, he was here spiritual and prefect of studies. He was a marriage bond defender at the church court . After Salvador Rangel Mendoza's appointment as Bishop of Chilpancingo-Chilapa on June 20, 2015, Acosta Beltrán administered the diocese of Huejutla as diocesan administrator for the duration of the vacancy .

On January 28, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Huejutla. He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Christophe Pierre , on March 14 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the former bishop of Huejutla, Juan de Dios Caballero Reyes, and his predecessor Salvador Rangel Mendoza, OFM , bishop of Chilpancingo-Chilapa .
