José Lizares Estrada

José Lizares Estrada (born May 31, 1934 in Tapalpa ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Monterrey .

Life

José Lizares Estrada was ordained a priest on December 19, 1959 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Altamirano on March 4, 1980 . The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico , Girolamo Prigione , ordained him episcopal on April 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Serafín Vásquez Elizalde , Bishop of Ciudad Guzmán , and Manuel Samaniego Barriga , Bishop of Cuautitlán .

He resigned from his office on January 31, 1987. On March 25, 1987, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Monterrey.

On December 21, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
