José Roberto Silva Carvalho (born March 31, 1960 in Fortaleza , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Caetité .

Life

José Roberto Silva Carvalho studied in Vitória da Conquista and Taubaté and received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Vitória da Conquista on July 9, 1995 .

He completed a course for the formation of priests in Rome and was rector of the philosophical seminary Nossa Senhora das Vitórias in Vitória da Conquista from 1995 to 2010 . Since 2011 he has been a member of the Council of Priests and the College of Consultors of the Diocese, Pastor of the Holy Spirit Parish in Poções and Episcopal Vicar for the Vicariate of São Marcos . On September 15, 2011, he received the honorary title of chaplain to His Holiness .

On October 26, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Caetité. The Archbishop of Vitória da Conquista, Luís Gonzaga Silva Pepeu OFMCap , ordained him episcopal on January 29 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Teresina , Celso José Pinto da Silva , and the Bishop of Bom Jesus da Lapa , João Santos Cardoso .
