Josal Luiz Pellegrino

Josal Luiz Pellegrino (born June 2, 1943 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Josal Luiz Pellegrino is the son of Alica Mourâo Pelegrino and José Pellegrino. He graduated from Gothenburg University with a degree in History and Political Science in 1971 , joined the Foreign Service in 1976 and was appointed Secretary of the Third Class and assigned to the Middle East Department.

From 1977 Pellegrino was transferred as chargé d'affaires and assistant in the Africa II department, initially to Bissau and one year later as an assistant in the foreign trade promotion department, from where he looked after the Brazilian pavilion at the Maputo trade fair . In 1979 he changed to the management of the trade fairs and tourism department as an assistant, was appointed third class legation secretary on June 21, and was in charge of the mass at Augusto Pinochet in Santiago de Chile .

In 1980 Pellegrino was assigned to the communications and archive department and in 1982 transferred to Kinshasa as chargé d' affaires. In the meantime he completed the Curso de Aperfeiçoamento de Diplomatas of the Rio Branco Institute and on June 22, 1983, in recognition of his work, was appointed Secretary of the First Class.

After serving in the mission at the United Nations Office in Geneva from 1984 , Pellegrino became chargé d'affaires in Prague in 1987 , in San Salvador in 1990 and in 1992 took over the management of the archive. On June 22, 1993 he was appointed Legation Councilor in recognition of his achievements and was transferred as such to Paris in 1995. In 1997 he presented the study O papel atual e potencial do Parlamento Europeu nas relações da União Européia com o Brasil as part of the Curso de Alto Estudios , and took it over to the Federal Affairs Department a year later. On December 27, 2000, Pellegrino was appointed second class envoy, then headed the passport department and the department for Brazilians abroad from 2001. A year later he was appointed as chargé d'affaires in Islamabad and from 2003 in Port of Spain used as well as head of the passport department. In January 2006, he led the Brazilian diplomatic mission in Ramallah and received on 24 November 2006 to 11 May 2011, the appointment as Ambassador to Lusaka .
