Josefov (German Josefsdorf ) is a district of the municipality Rožná in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers south of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Josefov is located on the left side of the Nedvědička valley on a ridge in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . To the north is the valley basin of the Zlatkovský creek and to the south that of the Janovický creek. The Nad Drahami (631 m) rises to the southeast, the Zadní končiny (552 m) to the south and the Hradisko to the west .

Neighboring towns are Zlatkov in the north, Věchnov in the northeast, Lískovec in the east, Pernštejnské Janovice in the southeast, Suché Louky, Věžná and Jabloňov in the south, Rožná in the west and Dvořiště in the northwest.

history

Josephsdorf was built in 1757 on part of the corridors of the closed Janovice manor house belonging to the Pernstein domain and is named after Joseph von Stockhammer on Pernstein. In 1790 the village consisted of 35 houses in which 145 people lived. The place was parish after Rožná, the school was in Býšovec . In 1834 there were 202 inhabitants in the 36 houses in Josephsdorf.

After the abolition of patrimonial Josephsdorf / Josefov formed a community in the Neustadtl district with the settlement Suché Louky from 1850 . In 1900 Josefov had 197 inhabitants and consisted of 34 houses. 1921 Josefov had 182 inhabitants and 1950 were 142. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. In 1961 it was incorporated into Rožná and at the same time assigned to Okres Žďár nad Sázavou. In 1970 there were 121 people in Josefov. In 1991 the place had 55 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 41 houses in which 56 people lived.

The settlement Suché Louky ( Dürrwies ), one kilometer south below the Koppe, belongs to Josefov .
