Joseph Atsumi Misue

Joseph Atsumi Misue ( Japanese ヨ ゼ フ 三 末 篤實 , Yosefu Misue Atsumi ; born April 24, 1936 in Hirado , Nagasaki Prefecture , Japan ; † June 28, 2016 ) was a Japanese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Hiroshima .

Life

Joseph Atsumi Misue was ordained a priest on March 19, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Hiroshima on March 29, 1985. The Archbishop of Osaka , Paul Hisao Yasuda , donated him episcopal ordination on June 16 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop William Aquin Carew , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Japan, and Peter Seiichi Shirayanagi , Archbishop of Tokyo and later Cardinal. On June 13, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Joseph Atsumi Misue for reasons of age.

Since September 23, 1989 he was an honorary member of the Catholic student association AV Edo-Rhenania to Tokyo in the Cartell Association of Catholic German student associations .
