Joseph Haecke

Joseph Haecke (* 1801 or 1802 in Mülheim am Rhein , Duchy of Berg ; † after 1856) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Haecke enrolled on May 1, 1822 at the age of 21 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich to study history painting . From 1833 to 1839 he attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy . There he was a student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer's landscape class . Haecke stayed in Düsseldorf and was a founding member of the artists' association Malkasten . He sent Berlin academy exhibitions with landscape and architectural motifs from the Rhine and Lahn regions (1836, 1839, 1840, 1844, 1846, 1856). He also took part in exhibitions by art associations, for example in Leipzig and Lübeck .
