Joseph Freiherr von Ellrichshausen (born February 6, 1832 in Stuttgart ; † November 2, 1906 in Assumstadt ) was a knightly deputy and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Ellrichshausen was lord of the manors Assumstadt , Maisenhälden , Ernstein and Jagstheim . In 1849 he joined the Württemberg Army in the Royal Bodyguard and in 1862 became captain in command of the military police. As such, he took part in the wars of 1866 and 1870 with the dragoon regiment "Queen Olga" and received the Knight's Cross 2, class with swords of the Order of the Württemberg Crown and the Iron Cross in 1870 . On the day of the Battle of Champigny-sur-Marne he was made major. From 1872 to 1875 he was in the Prussian Army with the 13th Uhlan Regiment and 4th Cuirassier Regiment. In 1876 he took his leave as first lieutenant.

From 1882 to 1895 Ellrichshausen was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates as a representative of the knighthood of the Neckar District . In 1884 he ran in the constituency of Württemberg 3 ( Heilbronn , Besigheim , Brackenheim , Neckarsulm ) for the German Reichstag, but could not prevail in the runoff election against the mandate holder Georg Härle . Von Ellrichshausen won the next election and was a member of the Reichstag from 1887 to 1890. In the election of 1890 he lost the mandate again to Härle.

Joseph von Ellrichshausen was a knight of honor of the Order of St. John .
