Josh Hopkins (2010)

Josh Hopkins (born September 12, 1970 in Lexington , Kentucky ) is an American actor .

Hopkins is the son of former Kentucky Congressman Larry Hopkins and his wife Carolyn Hopkins. Hopkins acted in various films and television series, so u. a. in Ally McBeal and Private Practice . From 2009 to 2015 he was part of the regular cast in the series Cougar Town .

Career

Hopkins made his first appearance in 1996 in the film Parallel Sons . In 1998 he got his first major role in the fourth season of New York Undercover .

1999 was followed by an appearance in the music video for the song Unsent by Alanis Morissette. This was followed by appearances in Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999), Ally McBeal (2001/02) and Pepper Dennis (2006). He later worked with his former colleague, Ally McBeal co-star, Calista Flockhart, as a recurring character on the Brothers & Sisters series.

In 2009 he got the role of Dr. Noah Barnes in the second season of the ABC series Private Practice , which he gave up to take on the role of Grayson Ellis on the series Cougar Town . BuddyTV voted him 73rd on "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011".

Personal

Hopkins is a passionate amateur musician. His first music video "Feigning Interest" (directed by John Killoran & Matt O'Neil) was released in 2006. After the video was posted on MySpace in 2007, viewers debated whether the song was misogynistic or satirical (which Hopkins said was intended). The popularity of the video led to an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2007, which received critical acclaim. Hopkins is a fan of the University of Kentucky sports teams and has made several appearances on "Kentucky Sports Radio"
