Josh Huff (* 14. October 1991 in Houston , Texas ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He last played for the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL). He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was also used as a return specialist in the special teams of both teams .

Early years

Huff already played football in high school . He attended Nimitz High School in Harris County , Texas , where he played quarterback , wide receiver , running back and cornerback .

college

Huff attended the University of Oregon from 2010 to 2013 . He played college football there on the position of the wide receiver at the Oregon Ducks in the Pacific-12 Conference and was also used there in the special teams .

In total, Huff caught 144 passes for 2,366 yards and 24 touchdowns . In his senior year, he broke the college record for most yards caught in a season at 1,140 yards.

NFL

Philadelphia Eagles

Huff was selected in the NFL Draft 2014 by the Philadelphia Eagles in 86th place in the 3rd round and signed a four-year contract there.

From the start of his NFL career, Huff was employed by the Eagles as a return specialist and was able to set the Eagles record for the longest kick return in his 2014 rookie season . He carried a kickoff against the Tennessee Titans 107 yards for a touchdown in the opposing end zone.

After driving too fast and being stopped by the police on November 1, 2016, he was found with marijuana and an illegally wielded weapon. Initially, the Philadelphia Eagles wanted to continue working with him, but released him two days later on November 3, 2016.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On November 7, 2016, Huff signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was initially added to the Practice Squad . On December 7, 2016, he was appointed to the active squad.

Before the 2017 regular season , he was dismissed as part of the Buccaneers' squad downsizing.

New Orleans Saints

After an entire season without a team, Huff signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints on January 19, 2018 .
For the traffic control incident in 2016, Huff was finally banned from the league for two games. The penalty should start at the beginning of the 2018 season .
Before the start of the regular season , however, he was released again.

AAF

In January 2019 he signed a contract in the newly formed Alliance of American Football (AAF) with the Arizona Hotshots . After the eighth game day of the first season, the game was stopped due to financial issues.
