Joshua "Josh" Lawson (born July 22, 1981 in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian actor and film director .

Life

Josh Lawson grew up as the middle of three brothers. His older brother is actor Ben Lawson . He attended St Joseph's College Gregory Terrace. He studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art , from which he graduated with a degree in acting.

Josh Lawson had his first television role in 1997 in two episodes of The Wayne Manifesto . In 2004, a story arc of three episodes followed in the Australian soap opera Home and Away , before he was a guest for six episodes in the series Blue Heelers in 2006 . He had his first leading role in 2007 with the role of Tobias "Toby" Jones in the first season of the series Sea Patrol . In the same year he played in The Librarians to Lachie Davis . Between 2007 and 2009 he played Carmichael Chandon in Chandon Pictures . Lawson had his first leading role in an American series in 2010 in the sitcom Romantically Challenged, alongside Alyssa Milano and Kyle Bornheimer . However, the series was canceled after four episodes broadcast by the broadcaster ABC . In 2012, he appeared in the films The Agony of Choice and Any Questions for Ben? . Since January 2012 he has been part of the main cast of the Showtime series House of Lies alongside Kristen Bell in his role as Doug Guggenheim .

In 2014 he directed The Little Death - A Comedy About Sex for the first time.
