Jovana Brakočević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Јована Бракочевић ; born March 5, 1988 in Zrenjanin , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian volleyball player .
Career
Jovana Brakočević played in the Serbian national team from 2006 to 2016 in the diagonal position. She took part in the Olympic Games three times, finished fifth in Beijing in 2008 , eleventh in London in 2012 and won the silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 . Moreover occupied Brakočević in the 2006 World Cup third place and was 2007 European silver medalist and 2011 European champion . There were also victories in the Europa League in 2009 and 2011 . Brakočević played for the following clubs: Poštar 064 Belgrade (2007 Serbian champion), Spes Volley Conegliano , Guangzhou Evergrande (China), JT Marvelous (Japan), Vakıfbank İstanbul (2013 and 2014 Turkish double, 2013 Champions League and Club World Cup victory) and Azerrail Baku . After a baby break, Brakočević entered the final round of the A1 series at Imoco Volley Conegliano and became Italian champion. In 2016/17 she played for LJ Nordmeccanica Modena and at the end of the season for the Kazakh Altai VC. Since December 2017 she has been active in Romania at CSM Bucharest and won the national double in 2018. After a season in Poland with Budowlani Łódź , she has been back in Italy for AGIL Volley Novara since 2019 . Brakočević has received several individual awards at various international competitions (“Most Valuable Player”, “Best Attacker” etc.).
Private
Brakočević is married to the Italian Marcello Canzian. The two have had a son Viktor since 2015.
