At the age of 14, Melli came to Real Betis , where he continues to play to this day, apart from a loan to Polideportivo Ejido . After he went through all youth ranks he came to Polideportivo Ejido in 2001/02, where he only came on two missions. He then returned to Betis and was promoted to the first team. His greatest success was winning the Copa del Rey in 2005. Melli also played with Betis in the UEFA Cup and the Champions League .
Even after relegation from the Primera División in 2009, Melli remained loyal to Betis. After the missed recovery, he moved to league rivals CD Tenerife in the summer of 2010. With his new club he could not hold in the class at the end of the 2010/11 season . He left Tenerife after a season and joined the Belgian first division club KAA Gent . There he became a regular and reached the qualification for the Europa League with his team at the end of the 2011/12 season , but missed the group stage there. In the spring of 2013 he was hardly considered and in August 2013 he moved to Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova. After winning the championship in 2014 , the Greek first division club Ergotelis signed him. His new club found themselves at the bottom of the table since the beginning of the 2014/15 season when he decided to move to Azerbaijan to PFK Simurq Zaqatala . Since the new club had to withdraw in summer 2015 due to financial bottlenecks. Melli moved to Neftçi Baku within the Premyer Liqası . As a regular player, he contributed to Neftçi qualifying for the Europa League at the end of the 2015/16 season .
In the summer of 2016, Melli returned to Spain, where he accepted an offer from FC Reus in the Segunda División. The promoted team finished the 2016/17 season in a secure midfield, but Melli was only used irregularly. From summer 2017 he played for CD Mirandés in Segunda División B and ended his career there during the 2019/20 season.
