Juan Pablo Garcia

Juan Pablo Garcia Samano (born October 4, 1987 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican automobile racing driver . He took part in Indy Lights from 2009 to 2014 .

Career

After Garcia started his motorsport career in karting , he switched to formula racing in 2006 and was twelfth in the American Formula Renault . In the winter that followed, Garcia made his A1GP debut . For the Mexican team he took part in two races in the 2006/2007 season. He then started in the national class of the British Formula 3 championship for Fluid Motorsport in 2007 . He finished the season in seventh place in the national class. In 2008 Garcia competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he remained without points, and in the Northern European Formula Renault, in which he was 16th.

In 2009 Garcia could not find a cockpit for a full season and he only competed in one Indy Lights race for HVM Racing . He finished the race in 18th place and finished 31st overall. In 2010 Garcia took part in two Indy Lights races for Michael Crawford Motorsports . With a sixth place as the best result, he finished the season in 20th place overall. In 2011 Garcia took part in the first four Indy Lights races for Jensen MotorSport . At the end of the season he was again in 20th place in the drivers' championship. In 2012 Garcia competed in Indy Lights for the new racing team Jeffrey Mark Motorsport , which cooperates with Bryan Herta Autosport . Garcia finished the season with two seventh places as the best results in ninth place.

In 2013 Garcia moved to Team Moore Racing within Indy Lights . Garcia achieved fourth place as the best result. He switched to Belardi Auto Racing two races before the end of the season . As the worst full-time pilot, he finished the season in eighth place overall. In 2014 he received an Indy Lights cockpit at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports , the championship team from the previous year. Garcia achieved two fourth places as the best results and, as the third-best driver of his team, was sixth in the overall standings. He was internally defeated by Jack Harvey and Luiz Razia , but finished the season one position ahead of Juan Piedrahita .
