Julia Kempken (* 1960 in Oberhausen ) is an artist from Nuremberg trained in dance , drama and singing . In addition to many artistic in-house productions, she runs a dance school in Nuremberg and is the first chairwoman and artistic director of the Red Stage in Nuremberg.

Life

Kempken was born in Oberhausen as the daughter of the actor Helmut Kempken . Due to her father's commitment to the State Theater in Nuremberg , she grew up in the Middle Franconian metropolis. In 1981 she obtained her general university entrance qualification at the Pirckheimer Gymnasium in Nuremberg. She then began her training in dance, singing and acting while the mother of two. Today she lives in Nuremberg and is the mother of four children, including Maria Kempken .

She financed her dance education as a street artist. She then took acting lessons and took part in musical workshops. She passed a successful final examination at the ZBF Munich and achieved several master and runner-up titles in tap dance . She had several international appearances such as B. for the Goethe-Institut at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She learned from international greats like Brenda Bufalino , Josh Hilberman , Carnell Lyons and Sam Weber . In addition to numerous engagements at city and state theaters and collaborations with artist colleagues such as Oliver Tissot , Bernd Regenauer , Stefan Grasse and Silvia Plankl , she can demonstrate a spectrum of experience in the radio and television sector. Her main work area is her own stage productions. The musical genre she specializes in is jazz from the 1920s to 1940s.

Kempken is involved in various social projects, associations and campaigns such as One Billion Rising or Inner Wheel . She awards social grants to pupils at the Tanzfabrik Nürnberg and is a founding member and first chairwoman of the non-profit association Kulturverein Rote Bühne e. V. She regularly appears at benefit events.
