Julius Fürst (born April 4, 1861 in Dänischenhagen , † March 18, 1938 in Kiel ) was a German painter, draftsman and graphic artist.

Fürst began his art studies with the sculptor and medalist Engelbert Pfeiffer in Hamburg . From 1882 to 1886 he studied at the Berlin Art Academy . In 1888 he continued his studies with Otto Seitz in Munich . From 1892 he lived in Kiel. In 1894 he was a founding member of the Schleswig-Holstein Art Cooperative . 1903–1920 he was chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein Art Association .

He made a name for himself above all with genre pictures and portraits, often as copies of older works. An oil painting by the leading Berlin salon lady Princess Henriette of Schleswig-Holstein became particularly well known . Julius Fürst often took part in exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace . In 1893 and 1914 he sent the Great Berlin Art Exhibition . For the town hall in Kiel he created portraits of the writer Klaus Groth and the privy councilor Friedrich von Esmarch . He provided the book about the Schleswig-Holstein national anthem Schleswig-Holstein sea-wrapped with his illustrations.

The Julius-Fürst-Weg commemorates him in Kiel.
