Jure Bogdan (born November 9, 1955 in Donji Dolac , Yugoslavia , today Croatia ) is a Croatian clergyman and Roman Catholic military bishop of Croatia.

Life

Jure Bogdan studied at the seminary in Split from 1973 to 1980 and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska on June 22, 1980 .

After his ordination he was first chaplain in Metković and then spiritual of the boys' seminary in Split . In 1992 he was to further studies at the Pontifical Croatian College of St. Jerome in Rome sent and in 1999 at the Institute of Pastoral Theology of the Lateran University to Dr. theol. PhD . As early as December 1996, at the suggestion of the Croatian bishops, the Congregation for Catholic Education called him Rector of the Pontifical Croatian College. In 2006 he was confirmed in this office.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of the Croatian Military Ordinary on November 30, 2015 . The archbishop of Split-Makarska, Marin Barišić , donated him episcopal ordination on February 27 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Zagreb , Cardinal Josip Bozanić , and his predecessor Juraj Jezerinac .
