The Jyske Bank A / S is the second largest listed bank in Denmark , based in Silkeborg . It offers various types of financial services and is represented in Denmark, Germany and Gibraltar .

Company history

On July 7, 1967, Jyske Bank was founded in Silkeborg from a merger of Silkeborg Bank, Kjellerup Bank and Handels- og Landbobanken from Kjellerup and Silkeborg. With the takeover of Samsø Bank, Vendelbobanken and Holstebro Bank, Jyske Bank consolidated its branch network in the 1970s and 1980s. The company histories of the founding banks go back to the 19th century. The headquarters of Jyske Bank in Silkeborg was built as early as 1882 and has been continuously expanded since then. You can still enter the bank through the founding building and then get to the modern rear complex.

Until 1980 Jyske Bank was only represented as a local bank in Jutland . It was only with the takeover of Finansbanken in Copenhagen that Jyske Bank became a nationwide company. With their takeover and with it the Swiss subsidiary Finanz und Investmentbank, the international orientation of Jyske Bank began.

On February 24, 2014, Jyske Bank acquired the Danish mortgage bank BRFkredit A / S. Jyske Bank A / S has issued around 7.4 billion Danish kroner, the equivalent of 992 million euros, in new, young shares to BRFholding for BRFkredit. After the merger and payment, BRFholding will be the largest shareholder in Jyske Bank A / S.

In the 2016 European bank stress test, Jyske Bank ranked itself as the financially strongest of all Danish banks and took 10th place out of all 151 participating European banks.

Today Jyske Bank A / S is the third largest Danish bank with over 4,000 employees. It currently serves around 740,000 customers in its 147 branches in Denmark and two international locations.

Jyske Bank - International

In 1980, Jyske Bank began its international orientation with the takeover of the finance and investment bank in Zurich . The international business was expanded in 1987 with the acquisition of AL Galliano Bankers Ltd in Gibraltar and Hamburger Handelsbank. Both locations provide access to Jyske Bank's private banking services. In addition, the bank founded in Gibraltar in 1855 acts as the local bank.

In the middle of the last decade, Jyske Bank opened an additional foreign location in Cannes on the Côte d'Azur . In addition, after 30 years of cooperation, 60% of the shares in Berben's Effectenkantoor in Weert near Eindhoven in the Netherlands were acquired.

In 2016, Jyske Bank reduced its own foreign locations to Gibraltar and Hamburg.

Jyske Bank Private Banking

Jyske Bank Private Banking is part of the Jyske Bank Group. Jyske Bank Private Banking mainly serves clients residing outside Denmark - around 15,000 clients in 100 countries. Each customer belongs to one of the private banking units in Copenhagen or Gibraltar. The customer relationships of German investors are registered with Jyske Bank Private Banking Copenhagen, part of Jyske Bank A / S. The client relationships are thus subject to the general terms and conditions and provisions of Private Banking Copenhagen.
