history
The Bryggerigruppen emerged in its current form in 1989 through a merger of the brewery faxes with Jyske Bryggerier A / S . The latter brought in the more successful brands ( Ceres and Thor ) and so Aarhus , the hometown of Jyske Bryggerier , was chosen as the company's headquarters. Faxe Jyske A / S has been operating under the name Bryggerigruppen since 1992 . In 2000 Albani was taken over.
Brands
- Ceres
- With the varieties Ceres, Ceres Royal ( stout based on the English model) and Ceres Classic, the Ceres brewery from Aarhus was the most popular brewery in Jutland . As an original Jutland product, Ceres is often preferred to beers from the Carlsberg Group (from the island of Zealand ). Ceres has been an official supplier to the Danish royal court since 1911. The location in Aarhus (as well as the Maribo Bryghus in Maribo ) were closed in 2008 and production was relocated to Faxe and Odense .
- Thor
- The Thor brewery in Randers closed in 2003 and production moved to Faxe and Odense. The strong beer Blå Thor (Blue Thor) is particularly popular and is often referred to as Denmark's best beer.
- Faxes
- Faxe is the most important export product of the Bryggerigruppe. In Germany, Faxe is known, among other things, for sales in one-liter cans. A type of lemonade is also sold in Denmark under the name Faxe Kondi , one of the group's few successful non-beer products. In Germany, in addition to the “Premium” variety, a “Festbock” and the “10%” are sold, which are offered with ten percent alcohol by volume .
- Albani
- The Albani brewery from Odense was founded in the mid-19th century while trying to brew wheat beer based on the Bavarian model. Today, Albani mainly produces Danish Pilsener and, thanks to the Group's regionalization strategy, is considered the most important brewery on the island of Funen .

- The majority of the Tauras brewery in Lithuania has been owned by Royal Unibrew since 1999 . It is the market leader in Lithuania and successfully exports to Estonia , Latvia and Russia .
