KFK 327 is a German war fishing cutter and thus belongs to the largest shipbuilding series in German seafaring. It was built in 1943 at the Burmester shipyard .

history

Second World War

The cutter was built in 1943 at Ernst Burmester Schiffswerft KG in Swinoujscie- Ostswine and served during the Second World War. KFK 327 was deployed under the identification Vs 250 (outpost security boat) by the 2nd security flotilla ( Stettin ) in the area "Pomeranian coast and the island of Rügen". On March 8, 1945 the cutter sank off Sassnitz after a sea mine explosion .

Fishing service

After the end of the war, the cutter was lifted and used as a fishing and fishing research vessel until the 1960s under the identification SAS 300 GADUS . The KFK was mainly used in the Baltic Sea from Rügen (Sassnitz) and Usedom . In 1969 the fishermen from Karlshagen donated the ship to the House of Pioneers in Rostock.

Operation as a youth training ship

Under the name Seid Ready , the ship in the Baltic Sea area around Rostock was used from 1969 to 1989 as a training ship for young people and prospective sailors as part of the youth organization Pioneer Organization Ernst Thälmann in the GDR. Under the name Vagel Grip , the training and adventure trips for young people were continued from 1989 by the association for the development of the youth ship "LIKEDEELER" eV , which returned the ship to the city of Rostock because it was unseaworthy. Since May 1, 2003, the ship has been managed by the city of Rostock and has been given to the Vagel Grip association for use with an operator contract. In 2005 the cutter should be scrapped. It was sponsored by the Friends of the traditional cutter Vagel Grip e. V. taken over and overhauled at a shipyard. According to press reports in the Ostsee-Zeitung, Ostsee Touristik AG is listed as the owner of the ship in 2011 .

Accidents

The KFK 327 has sunk several times in the course of its history. First it sank through a mine on March 8, 1945, after the end of the war it was lifted and repaired in the Wolgast Horn shipyard. On July 25, 2010 the cutter sank in Warnemünde on the Alter Strom. After a short time it was lifted and taken to a shipyard in Rostock. Investigations and repairs were carried out. The ship was moved to the Rostock city harbor and sank again on January 15, 2011. The Rostock authorities considered at the end of February 2011 to order an emergency rescue because of escaping hazardous substances. In April 2011 the ship was finally recovered and parked on land at the former ferry terminal in Rostock-Oldendorf. In addition, it was reported in local advisory council meetings on May 24th and 29th that first of all secure storage was provided and “that the cutter should be removed by December 2012.” The state of affairs for 2013 is unknown.

Scrapping

In May 2014 the end of the ship is sealed. It is dismantled directly at the ferry terminal in Rostock-Oldendorf.
