Kai Sehr

Kai Sehr (* 1965 in Düsseldorf ) is a German director .

Professional background

Kai Sehr grew up in Germany, worked as a nurse for a while until he moved to Los Angeles in the 1990s and studied film directing at the American Film Institute .

Kai Sehr directed a series of music videos for the bands Die Sterne , Pech , Die Ärzte , Die fantastischen Vier and Live . In 1996 he shot the video clip for the Backstreet Boys for their debut single in the USA Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) . An 87-minute music film entitled Live in Berlin was made in 2002 under his direction for Glashaus . In 2011 Kai Sehr shot the music videos for Herbert Grönemeyer for the title Schiffsverkehr und Fernweh .

In the 2000s, Kai Sehr made numerous award-winning advertising films for McDonald’s , Hornbach and BMW, among others . In 2005 he received the Golden Award of Montreux for the Mc Donald's - Hello commercial and in 2005 he received a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival for his work on a series of nine advertising films for K-Fee Energy Drink .

Kai Sehr is married to the director Karin Haase-Sehr and has his main residence in Los Angeles.
