The Kaisergraben is a stream in the Viennese districts of Hietzing and Liesing . It is a feeder of the Gütenbach .

course

The Kaisergraben rises in Sickerquellen on the Kaltbründlberg in the Lainzer Tiergarten nature reserve , which belongs to the 13th district of Hietzing. It is fed by meadow ditches on the Lainzer Große Stockwiese. In the section on the Fasslbergwiese between Fasslberg and Kleiner Eichberg it usually carries water constantly.

The stream leaves the Lainzer Tiergarten through a barred opening in the zoo wall and reaches the Kalksburg part of the 23rd Liesing district. There it crosses Gütenbachstrasse under the Fasslbergbrücke, a 5 m long and 6 m wide road bridge made of reinforced concrete , and finally ends on the left in Gütenbach.

history

The Fasslberg Bridge was built in 1960.

ecology

The grass iris ( Iris graminea ) , which is strictly protected according to the Vienna Nature Conservation Act, grows on the Kaisergraben near the Lainzer Große Stockwiese . At the Fasslbergwiese there is a fragmentary Bruch-Weiden -Au along the stream .
