The limestone quarry and semi-dry grassland on Eich-Berg near Hemkenrode is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Erkerode and Cremlingen in the Wolfenbüttel district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG BR 050 is 10  hectares in size. It is from the conservation area surrounded "Elm". The area has been a nature reserve since December 2, 1982. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Wolfenbüttel district.

The nature reserve is located southeast of Braunschweig in the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park and is protecting an abandoned, heavily fissured limestone quarry in the northwest of the Elm . A species-rich semi- arid grassland has formed in the quarry . There are also bushes in dry, warm locations and some fruit trees . Black pines grow in the southwest of the reserve , while the east is dominated by beech forest.

The flowery semi-arid grassland, in which there are also several species of orchids . is especially the habitat for numerous insects such as butterflies and grasshoppers . There are also anthills in many places. The nature reserve is also an important habitat for reptiles .
