Kaltenbuch is a district of the municipality of Bergen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The place has 129 inhabitants (status: 2008) and is at an altitude of around 600 meters above sea level.

Geographical location and traffic

The lookout point "Steinschütt"

The church village is located on the edge of the Franconian Jura about eight kilometers east of Weißenburg .

Due to the exposed location, from Kaltenbuch you have a wide panoramic view over the Brombachsee to Nuremberg, 40 km away . To the east is the Steinschütt lookout point . In located below the village Moor Wood bloom in spring, many daffodils .

Municipal roads lead to Rohrbach and Ettenstatt , to Pfraunfeld to the district road WUG 13 , to Indernbuch also to WUG 13 and to Oberhochstatt to the state road St 2228 .

history

With the community edict (19th century), Kaltenbuch became a politically independent community. On May 1, 1978 this was incorporated into Bergen.
