history
The first historical data come from a Wicpert von Pfrumveld , who gave away an estate in Höbing to Berchtesgaden in 1179 . In the Thirty Years War the place was completely destroyed except for the church. Ore mining took place from 1693 to 1863. This floor ore was smelted in Obereichstätt . The entrance to the former ore mine can still be seen today. In 1910 the citizens built the new Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas in the cemetery next to the demolished previous church . The ceiling frescoes in the nave: Glory of Nicholas with Mary, Joseph, Apostles and Trinity painted in 1940 by the Munich painter Josef Wittmann . Likewise the frescoes on the parapet Franziskus, Cäcilia, Elisabeth von Thüringen by Josef Wittmann, the drafts for these frescoes are preserved in the Diocesan Museum of Regensburg. On May 1, 1978, Pfraunfeld concluded in the course of municipal reform the community Burgsalach voluntarily.
