The Anlauter is an approximately 29 km long tributary of the Schwarzach on the Franconian Alb in Bavaria in the Altmühltal Nature Park .
etymology
The Anlauter was first mentioned in 1304 as Laynlautter . In 1417 the brook was called Leinlauter , 1540 Lautra and 1568 Lain Lautra . In 1796 the river was first referred to as the Anlauter ; In 1832 the name of the river changed to Einlauter . The basic word lūtar comes from Old High German and means something like louder, clear, pure. The defining word lei (n) is probably derived from the Middle High German word lei or leie, which can mean rock, stone or slate.
geography
course
The Anlauter flows a hundred meters east of Geyern from the Zeiselweiher , a pond with an area of around 420 square meters and a designated natural monument . It runs in a mainly south-easterly to easterly direction through the Altmühltal Nature Park and near Kinding - just before its confluence with the Altmühl - from the right and finally south towards the Schwarzach .
The Anlautertal is designed as a spacious meadow valley from the source to Nennslingen and then has relatively steep valley slopes that are covered with extensive limestone grasslands between Nennslingen and Bechthal. The near-natural, almost completely natural river water can hold back large amounts of water thanks to the strong meander formation in the upper reaches and thus serves as flood protection in areas downstream. The water quality is relatively good; After the discharges from the sewage treatment plants, the Anlauter shows a high self-cleaning power, so it improves by itself in the onward flow. Wood on the banks are mainly alders and willows.
At Bechthal, the Anlauter and smaller springs feed the Bechthaler Weiher , a small landscape lake that was created in 1977 as part of the land consolidation .
