Kaltenmoor is the largest district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony in the southeast .

The district is bounded to the west by the Ilmenau and to the east by the eastern bypass. In the southwest, Wilschenbruch is the smallest district. In the northwest, the district of Schützenplatz borders with the train station; further east - separated by a park - Neu Hagen .

On the edge of the shopping center is the Ecumenical Center , built in 1973/74 , with its own worship rooms for Evangelical Lutheran and Catholic services. In the district there are numerous facilities that are mostly also used by the residents of the neighboring districts or are even the only ones in the city. These include the Kaltenmoor school center with the only comprehensive school in Lüneburg and the St. Stephanus Ecumenical Center . The Johanneum Lüneburg has also had its headquarters in the Kaltenmoor district since 1978.
