Location of Ochtmissen in Lower Saxony

Ochtmissen is a district of the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony . The place is about three kilometers northwest of Lüneburg. Ochtmissen is one of the oldest villages in the district and was an independent municipality until 1974.

history

Ochtmissen was founded more than a thousand years ago, making it one of the oldest settlements in the Lüneburg district . In 1717 there was a dispute with the municipality of Vögelsen about a load of plagues , and Ochtmissen was right.

On March 1, 1974, the village was incorporated into Lüneburg as part of a regional reform.

The local mayor of the district is Jens-Peter Schultz ( SPD ).

Culture and sights

The primary school "Schule am Sandberg" is located in Ochtmissen with around 80 students and 5 teachers. There is also a day-care center in the center of the village.

Economy and Infrastructure

There is a connection to the A 39 via the Lüneburg-Nord junction , which runs past the site to the north.

The Hanover – Hamburg line runs parallel to the motorway . The nearest train stations are Bardowick and Lüneburg . The Buchholz – Lüneburg railway ran through the town until it was closed . There was also a stop on this route in Ochtmissen.
