The canton Coroico is an administrative district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The canton of Coroico is one of three cantons of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Coroico in the province of Nor Yungas and is located in the eastern part of the district. It borders in the northeast on the province of Caranavi , in the northwest on the canton Mururata , in the west on the canton Pacollo , in the southwest on the province Sud Yungas , and in the east on the municipality Coripata .

The canton extends between 16 ° 02 'and 16 ° 21' south latitude and 67 ° 33 'and 67 ° 50' west latitude, it measures from north to south up to 30 kilometers, from west to east up to 15 kilometers. The canton has 64 localities ( localidades ), the central place is Coroico with 2,319 inhabitants ( 2012 ) in the central part of the canton.
