The canton of Ober-Vellmar was an administrative unit in the Kassel district of the Fulda department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was Obervellmar , today a district of Vellmar in the Kassel district . The canton comprised 16 villages and hamlets, had 6,228 inhabitants and an area of 2.09 square miles .
